Reading is one of the most important skills your child learns. Having strong reading skills in their fundamental years can set your child up for success later in life. As a childcare center in Greenwood, Arkansas, we let our children engage in activities that can encourage their reading skills.

Here are some activities you can do at home to develop your child’s reading skills:

  • Read a story to your child every day. When they get the hang of it, you can shift the reading responsibility to your child to encourage them to read on their own.
  • Have books available for them to read in your home. Place them in the car, the bathroom, next to the bed, in the living room, etc. to encourage them to read.
  • Find books that they love. Your child may not be interested in reading because they simply do not like what you have. Go for varied genres such as mystery, science fiction, and adventure stories.
  • Use examples other than books. Various things in the environment can be read such as recipes, weather reports, store hours, and road signs.

Helping Children Become Independent and Confident http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/helping-children-become-independent-and-confident http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/helping-children-become-independent-and-confident#respond Fri, 06 Aug 2021 03:15:03 +0000 http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/?p=612 Continue reading ]]> helping-children-become-independent-and-confident

A lot of the values we have as adults were honed during our childhood. It might seem mundane, but the nuances in how we raise our kids affect how they turn up as adults. The emotional and social well-being of our children lies in the education and child-rearing they experience.

Independence and confidence are two important values your kids need to develop for them to be better adults. Little Blessings Preschool and Childcare Center is your reliable partner in nurturing self-reliant and confident kids. Enroll your child at Little Blessings so we can help build the foundations of their willpower and autonomy.

Here are a few of the things we do in our preschool:

  • We provide a safe space where they can initiate interactions with other kids. Giving them the opportunity to play without supervision allows them to rely on their instincts.
  • We integrate effective potty-training techniques that balance autonomy and shame. We make sure they don’t get embarrassed to the point of losing confidence when they accidentally wet their pants. Instead, we encourage them to use the bathroom or inform us whenever they need to go to the toilet.
  • We assign simple chores, like putting away their toys and things. Giving them tasks empowers them to accomplish it and in the same way, helps develop a sense of responsibility.

Our commitment to helping parents and children makes Little Blessings the best choice for early education.

Good Manners Start at Home http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/good-manners-start-at-home http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/good-manners-start-at-home#respond Thu, 08 Jul 2021 06:33:56 +0000 http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/?p=607 Continue reading ]]> good-manners-start-at-home

It’s always a delight to see young kids showing good manners, such as saying “thank you,” “please,” “excuse me,” and other similar phrases. You may see other kids from a reputable Day Care Center in Arkansas be respectful and mindful of others, and you hope your child will exhibit these good manners as well.

However, as a Childcare center in Greenwood, Arkansas, we want to remind you that good manners start at home. It is, firstmost, the role of the parents to teach their child about respect. Moreover, the best way to do that is to be role models themselves. When interacting with their little ones, they should incorporate what they teach: respect and kindness.

It is never too early to introduce and teach your child about manners. Some good examples you can teach your child during their tender years include:

  • Magic Words.
These magic words include “please,” “thank you,” “you’re welcome,” and “I’m sorry.” You can encourage them to use these words by using them as well. For example, you say “please” when you ask them to do something and then follow it with a “thank you” after they do what you ask.
  • Proper Greetings.
These include saying “hello” when someone arrives and “goodbye” when they leave. You can also start at home by greeting them “good morning” when you wake up and “good evening” or “good night” when you’re about to sleep.

As you continue to teach your little ones the ways of using manners at home, we at Little Blessings Preschool and Childcare Center will also do our part to remind, encourage, and be role models to them when they’re in our Preschool Daycare in Van Buren, Arkansas.

Teaching Your Little Pumpkin About Stranger Danger http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/teaching-your-little-pumpkin-about-stranger-danger http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/teaching-your-little-pumpkin-about-stranger-danger#respond Fri, 11 Jun 2021 06:32:18 +0000 http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/?p=603 Continue reading ]]> teaching-your-little-pumpkin-about-stranger-danger

“My child is starting preschool, but she’s friendly towards strangers”. If this is something you constantly worry about, then it’s time to talk about “stranger danger”.

While our Day Care Center in Arkansas always strives to emphasize the kindness and generosity of people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or socio-economic background, we also want the kiddos to know that there are not-so-nice people who might want to hurt them.

Our staff is instructed to look after the little tots while they wait for their parents to pick them up, but there’s very little we can do once they set foot out the gates of our Childcare center in Greenwood, Arkansas.

Now it’s up to you to teach your child about these “tricky strangers”. But how do you do it? Here are a few tips:

  • Define who strangers are.
Don’t teach your child that a stranger is someone who looks rugged and scary. Not only is it not true, but it’s extremely dangerous for kids to think that. Even attractive strangers can harm your child.

The best you can do is to tell them which strangers are considered as “safe strangers”.

  • Define the “safe strangers”.
These people are typically the policemen, firemen, and the teachers and staff at your child’s Preschool Daycare in Van Buren, Arkansas. Make sure to be specific when you describe who these are.

  • Recognizing danger.
Teach your child that if a stranger makes them uncomfortable, they should run away and look for “safe strangers”. Give examples of specific scenarios where they will need to do these things.

Helping Your Child Deal with Meanies In School http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/helping-your-child-deal-with-meanies-in-school http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/helping-your-child-deal-with-meanies-in-school#respond Wed, 07 Apr 2021 04:10:35 +0000 http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/?p=599 Continue reading ]]> helping-your-child-deal-with-meanies-in-school

There are unkind people who raise unkind kids. Yet, there are also kind people who don’t take the time to raise their kids to be kind. No matter which reason, a mean kid is still a mean kid.

We try our best to make sure the children enrolled in our Preschool Daycare in Van Buren, Arkansas get along, but there will always be one mean kid. No matter what their reason for being mean is, it’s not okay to treat other kids badly.

As a parent, you naturally want your child to grow up in a warm and accepting environment, but if your child is having to deal with mean comments from these meanies, Little Blessings Preschool and Childcare Center is here to offer up some advice on how to handle the situation:

  • Listen and connect with your child. Encountering a mean kid at their day care center in Arkansas can be really hard on your little cutie. Getting called a “wuss” or a “baby” in the playground may seem like nothing to adults, but can be shameful and even scary for a child.

Make sure your child knows that you are a safe space.

  • Help them find real friends. We know teachers in a Childcare center in Greenwood, Arkansas will cringe at this advice, but your little pumpkin doesn’t have to be friends with everyone in the class.

Sometimes the best way to deal with mean kids is to walk away. Encourage your child to spend time with kinder and genuine classmates.

  • Help them build their confidence. Your cutie may have a gentle soul but they don’t have to be doormats to meaner kids.

Teach your child to say “no” and “knock it off” when a classmate is getting aggressive.

Catching Up In Class After a Long Absence http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/catching-up-in-class-after-a-long-absence http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/catching-up-in-class-after-a-long-absence#respond Wed, 17 Mar 2021 02:48:33 +0000 http://www.ilovelittleblessings.com/?p=596 Continue reading ]]> catching-up-in-class-after-a-long-absence

Every parent wants their child to excel in academics, but sometimes illnesses and other complications can get in the way of it. If your child has been absent for a while due to medical emergencies, don’t worry. There are still a few ways you can try to help your child catch up with their classmates at their childcare center in Greenwood, Arkansas.

The first thing you should do is to inform your day care center in Arkansas about your child’s conditions. Preschools often have small groups of children who need support with some of their subjects, and your child can take advantage of this.

In terms of their relationships with their classmates, you can try arranging play dates and even zoom calls. Being absent for a long time in their preschool daycare in Van Buren, Arkansas can make your child feel left out from their previous friend group. But don’t worry, their teachers here at Little Blessings Preschool and Childcare Center will do their best to help foster their bonds with their classmates.

We are always looking for the best ways to encourage and foster your child’s development. If your child needs help catching up in school, don’t hesitate to approach us. We’ve got your back!
